The New Jersey Space Grant Consortium (NJSGC) was established in 1991 with the broad objective of advancing aerospace education, research and development in New Jersey through the following programs:

• An Innovative Partnership Program to foster high caliber aerospace research involving academic institutions and industry.
• A Summer Fellowship Program involving industry and academic research programs for undergraduate students with a specific goal to enhance the participation of women and under-represented minority students.
• A K - 12/Outreach Program to expose children, especially minority and disadvantaged children, to the stimulus and excitement of aerospace early in their education.

The NJSGC Mission
• To build research infrastructures and capabilities in aerospace-related/high technology fields.
• To improve mathematics, science, technology and engineering education at all levels, kindergarten through graduate school.
• To foster partnerships among industry, government and private entities to meet Space Grant goals.
• To enhance public science literacy
