Graduate Admissions

Admission into our Graduate Certificate, Master's or Doctoral programs in Engineering Management, Enterprise Systems, Financial Engineering, Space Systems, Software Engineering and Systems Engineering, requires an undergraduate degree in Engineering, or in a related discipline.

Outstanding applicants in other areas may be admitted conditionally on the basis that they satisfactorily complete specified introductory courses. Applicants to the school possess a strong quantitative background, including elements of calculus. Students seeking admission into our Master's and PhD programs must demonstrate a "B" or above average from an accredited college or university.

Master's Studies Program Admissions

For Master's degree programs, students must submit the following documentation for Admission:

  • Completed Application for Admission
  • Application Fee
  • All Official College Transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Statement of Purpose (required for International Students): which includes academic interests and general career objectives (maximum 2 pages)
  • Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (a sample Recommendation Form is available for download )
  • TOEFL scores of 550 or higher (or 210 for the computed based exam) are required for all International students.
  • GRE scores are required for some Graduate Certificate or Master's Degree applicants

Doctoral Studies Program Admissions

For Doctoral studies, students must submit the following documentation for Admission:

  • Statement of Purpose: which includes academic interests, proposed course work, research interests & rationale, general career objectives and desired full/part-time status (maximum 3 pages)
  • Current Resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Official transcripts for all schools of higher learning (university, colleges, etc.) attended; >3.0 Undergrad, >3.5 Graduate
  • A Masters Degree in a related area is strongly recommended
  • GRE test scores (Applicants may submit GMAT scores in lieu of GREs for the Doctorate in Engineering Management and Enterprise Systems)
  • TOEFL > 550 (scores for non-native speakers of English)
  • Three recommendations
  • Evidence of written work: includes a technical document written solely by the applicant, published work is most desirable
  • Letter of endorsement from employer for part-time studies

While applications are accepted in a rolling admissions process throughout the school year, due to limitations in available faculty advisors it is strongly encouraged that students complete their application submissions by March 15th for entry in the fall semester and by August 15th for entry in the spring semester . Applications received after these days will be considered for any remaining opening positions.
