Special Topics: Entrepreneurial Studio

Course Number:
SSW 810

This course simulates a Tech Startup environment with emphasis on experiential learning. Startups in all domains are collectively disrupting traditional markets by rethinking product, customer and cultural development. Students will learn to navigate the waters of an early stage venture by practicing lean methods in software engineering, customer development and receiving insight from experienced mentors.  Teams will take their concepts from value proposition through product development in preparation for market deployment. The course will conclude with a live pitch to a panel of judges and investors, with the opportunity for students to evolve their teams and products into operational companies.

This course is geared toward aspiring entrepreneurs and students who are interested in exploring the Startup environment.  Although programming experience is not required, SSW 555 Agile Methods is a useful companion course.
