The School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE), located in the heart of the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area, is one of the leading institutions in systems innovation and research. Ranked amongst the top 50 graduate programs in Engineering by the US News and World Report, SSE is dedicated to addressing some of the most complex systems and enterprises challenges faced by the world in the 21st Century.
At SSE, our goal is to provide students with an interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary education embedded in systems research and thinking. We focus on applying a “systems approach” to understand the nature of problems, and to conceive creative solutions that achieve breakthrough results across a wide range of domains.
We offer students degree programs in three core-engineering areas: Systems, Financial Engineering and Enterprise Science and Engineering. To meet the diverse academic needs of students locally, and globally, SSE offers flexible instructional delivery formats: on-campus, online via award-winning Stevens WebCampus, and on-site at various partner locations worldwide.
To ensure that our students are empowered with cutting-edge research and invention opportunities, the School of Systems and Enterprises houses three state-of-the-art research centers, Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), a University-Affiliated Research Center of the US Department of Defense (DoD), Center of Complex Systems and Enterprises (CCSE) and the Financial Systems Center (FSC).
