Founded in 1870, Stevens is fourth-oldest technological institute in the United States. Based on a history of innovation and excellence, Stevens continues to distinguish itself as a premier technological and research institute. Stevens offers a world-class education, dedicated to providing an academic setting where the pursuit of bold new ideas, creative enterprise and a zeal for learning flourish among the faculty and students in their pursuits of engineering, science and technology management, as well as of the humanities which enrich our academics.


Currently, there are 30 bachelor's programs, 40 master's programs, 18 PhD programs and more than 100 graduate certificates through the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science, the School of Systems and Enterprises, the Howe School of Technology Management, and the College of Arts and Letters. The Stevens student body is comprised of 1,800 undergraduate students, and 2,700 graduate students. Located just minutes from New York City, Stevens offers students a wealth of internship, cooperative education, and hands-on research opportunities, as well as, a vibrant campus life.
