The Student Employment Office is also dedicated to promoting civic engagement and social responsibility through service learning/volunteering. We strive to create positive change that addresses needs in the Hoboken and surrounding community. Countless opportunities for involvement enable students to engage in service experiences complementing their interests and objectives.
Community Federal Work Study at Stevens Institute of Technology
The Community Work Study Program is a federally-funded initiative designed to connect colleges with their surrounding communities. It helps students offset higher education costs while also lessening the financial burdens many non-profits experience. The program enables students to gain valuable experience working for non-profit organizations and public agencies in the Hoboken and surrounding community while at the same time earning Federal Work Study wages.

- Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
- St Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church
- First Robotics
- Hoboken Public Library
- Elysian Charter School
- Hoboken Historical Museum

The Student Employment Office will promote drop-in group volunteer events throughout the semester, these will be advertised on our website and in the Graduate/Undergraduate Student Life Newsletters.
