The Application for Candidacy is submitted when you are nearing the completion of your degree. Separate Applications for Candidacy are submitted for each program you are completing- for example, if you are receiving a Graduate Certificate and a Master's Degree, you must turn in two Applications for Candidacy. The Application for Candidacy must be approved and signed by your advisor prior to submitting it to our office. If you are unable to meet in person with your advisor, you can call and arrange for them to sign and send it back to you via fax/e-mail. The AC can be scanned/e-mailed, mailed or faxed to Aylin Brandon, Associate Registrar.
Fall Semester Conferment- Applications for Candidacy are due by October 1st.
Spring Semester Conferment- Applications for Candidacy are due by March 1st.
Be sure to check the spelling of your name in web for students- this is exactly how it will appear on your diploma. If there is a problem with this information, a "name change" form must be filed with the proper accompanying documentation. Also check your address- this is the address your diploma will be mailed to, about 6 weeks after the semester's conferment.
