Attorney General Matter 2010-2012

On February 1, 2012, James Zazzali, former Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court and special counsel to Stevens, reported that Stevens has achieved full compliance with the terms of the consent judgment entered into two years ago.  With this report, Chief Justice Zazzali’s role as special counsel comes to an end.

Chief Justice Zazzali’s report details the many steps undertaken by Stevens since February 2010 to reach this important milestone and I encourage you to read the full report, available here.

Chief Justice Zazzali notes in his conclusion: “From the first day through the last, in all my interaction with the leadership team at Stevens, it has been apparent that they have acted with a unified goal: the best interests of Stevens. They have been willing to hear criticism, learn from mistakes, and find solutions. They honored every request for information without obstruction. They thoughtfully considered every suggestion, always with the interests of Stevens at heart.”

The institution has greatly benefitted from Mr. Zazzali’s participation and guidance, and we thank him for his service.

Stevens has embarked on a new era characterized by excellence in all that we do, a sense of community and shared governance, and an unerring focus on the strategic mission of this wonderful institution.  The future for Stevens is a bright one.
