WebCT Classroom Request Form

Stevens faculty should use this form to request a new WebCT virtual classroom on Stevens server.  Please submit this form at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the next semester, to give you some time to prepare your classroom.

By requesting the Electronic Classroom, I understand that:

I am responsible for backing up (using the WebCT course backup tool) the course's "gradebook" (student database) onto my PC's hard drive, or other electronic media, "resetting" the course (cleaning student data out), and then making and saving a clean copy of the course at each semester end.  If I do not retain my own backup copies, IT will attempt to restore old courses upon my request, with or without grade information, from their backup copies whenever possible.

Information Technology will remove e-classrooms and all information in them at the end of the semester. (If a course will be taught the following semester or you need to develop it after the semester ends, the course can remain on the server. However, student information must be removed.)

I understand that I may request to have this e-classroom re-opened on the Stevens WebCT area if I want to teach the course in a future semester. I will restore my course from my personal backup copy, if I created one, or recreate the entire e-classroom. Information Technology is not responsible for restoring my course (except in emergencies, such as a general disk problem on the WebCT server).

I am responsible for use of all copyrighted materials in my WebCT classroom, and agree to obtain (pay for) use of such materials, if necessary.

Information Technology will provide training with basic use of WebCT tools and functions: email, bulletin board, chat, adding course materials (using paths), adding users, quizzes, glossary and the calendar.

Ownership of course material created within WebCT e-classrooms conforms to current policies of Stevens Institute of Technology.
