Tips for WebCT Success:

Expect to spend several weeks getting acquainted with WebCT functions.

Keep your classroom simple at first. Using just a few WebCT tools can make a very effective classroom. You will become familiar with it as you develop and use your course.

Give students specific assignments in the WebCT classroom. (For instance, you could require that they post at least 5 Discussion topic postings.) This will get them involved using the classroom.

If you want to use a WebCT tool, but are not sure how it works support is available on line. Help is available by clicking the Help link located in the top menu bar on the upper right hand corner of your course pages.  There are also reference guides that provide in-depth step-by-step instructions for most commonly used WebCT tools.  These can be found here.

WebCT will give error messages from time to time. Not all of them mean anything serious. You can usually read them and follow their instructions to get to the next step. Many of them can be disregarded. If you get stuck and don't know what to do, call the Help Desk at 201-216-5500. Don’t let the error messages intimidate you.

You cannot break WebCT!
