2013 SUMMER NEWSLETTER

The summer housing application is now available online. The application is due on Friday, April 19th. Current residents who apply for summer housing will remain in their room until the assigned summer move over date: Wednesday, May 29th. APPLY FOR SPECIAL INTEREST HOUSING

Special interest housing is housing that has a particular mission.  We are offering two different housing and living opportunities.
The mission of C.A.R.E at 1036 Park is to facilitate mutually beneficial service learning opportunities in the community and to help its residents become leaders in service to others.  This is accomplished through leadership development and service learning programming that helps meet identified community needs, fosters civic responsibility amongst students, and encourages students to think critically about current issues in our society.

The Cultural house at 828 Garden Street is thrilled to be going into its second year as a Special Interest House. Each apartment has the luxury amenities that all SLH apartments have including a full kitchen, living room and washer and dryer.  The building will be a mix of international and domestic students and will have monthly dinners to allow residents to immerse themselves in different cultures. The academic and cultural mission is to immerse students in a living environment that fosters increased language study and cultural awareness. The RA of the building will work with the residents to invite different speakers to hold conversation hours, movie nights, cultural celebrations, cooking classes and many other activities for all residents.
