What is the Tuition at Stevens?
Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year is $1040 per credit for School of Engineering and Science and School of Systems and Engineering courses. Can I get Financial Aid from Stevens?
Financial Aid is available in the form of Assistantships and Fellowships through the Academic Departments. Assistantships and Fellowships are awarded on a merit and availability basis and not normally awarded to first year graduate students. (See Information Guide On Teaching And Research Assistantships for more information.) Financial aid, via grants, loans and work study, is also available for US Citizens and Permanent Residents through the State of New Jersey and the Federal Government. What is a full time and part time student?
A full time student is a student who is currently carrying a semester credit load of at least 9 credits (3 courses) up to a maximum of 15 credits with the approval of the advisor and the Dean of Graduate Studies. Exceptions to the above include:

• Teaching and Research Assistants, who attempt 9 or more credit hours;
• Students taking doctoral qualifying exams within the next 6 months;
• Those students who are in the last semester of their program and require less than 10 credits to complete a degree;
• Other special circumstances with the approval of the advisor and the Dean of Graduate Studies.

Those students who do not meet the above situations are part time students. International Students holding F-1 or J-1 visas must be full-time students. Non-credit Development English courses may be considered as a course in defining a full-time load.
