Master of Materials Science Engineering
The Master of Engineering program or the Master of Science program in Materials Science Engineering requires a total of 30 credits, 9 of which must be from the core with balance in electives and research. Candidates may choose either a special topic or thesis research with any member of the faculty to satisfy the research requirement.

The Materials Science and Engineering program offers, jointly with Electrical and Computer Engineering (EE) and Physics and Engineering Physics (PEP), a unique interdisciplinary concentration in Microelectronics and Photonics Science and Technology. Intended to meet the needs of students and of industry in the areas of design, fabrication, integration, and applications of microelectronic and photonic devices for communications and information systems, the program covers fundamentals, as well as state-of-the-art industrial practices.
