A Non-Matriculating graduate student is one who wishes to enroll in specific courses without a degree objective or who has applied for admission to a degree program and has been allowed to enroll for one semester pending review of his or her application or is required to make up deficiencies before beginning a graduate degree program.
Under normal conditions, you may take up to 3 courses (9 credits) as a Non-Matriculating student.
Documents Required for a Non-Matriculating Student Application
The Office of Graduate Admissions requires the following documents in order to process your application. Complete forms should be faxed to the Office of Graduate Admissions at fax (201) 216-8044.
The Enrollment Form must be signed by the specific academic department for the class in which you intend to register. Permission from the academic department is required before you will be enrolled in the course.
The same required documents apply to Non-Matriculating students as Matriculating Domestic Students if they intend to matriculate in the future. Please note that enrolling in a course as a non-matriculating student in no way guarantees acceptance into the full degree program.
