In order to apply for a student visa, the U.S. Government requires international students to show that they have sufficient financial resources to meet costs related to tuition, fees, books, and living expenses. Download Application Process for International Students. Financial documents are not required to review your application for admission. However, it is in your best interest to submit them along with the rest of the application materials or while your application is pending in order to expedite the issuance of your form I-20 if/when you have been accepted. If you decide to apply for an Assistantship, financial documents will have no impact on the outcome of the Assistantship application process. Additional requirements only for International Applicants (individuals who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents):
Candidates who have already been admitted, but for personal reasons cannot begin in the term they were admitted for, may start their program via Steven’s award-winning WebCampus. Click here to learn how.
Corporate Site ApplicantsStudents applying for admission to a corporate site program may apply following the instructions on the appropriate corporate site page.
Graduate admission at Stevens is conducted through a rolling admissions policy for all domestic students. International applicants are encouraged to apply by May 1 for the fall intake and October 15 for the spring intake to allow sufficient time for application processing and issuance of immigration documents. Any students applying for fellowships or assistantships must apply by February 1 for consideration for the fall semester.
Application ReviewOnce the Office of Graduate Admissions has received all the necessary documents, the application will be forwarded to the appropriate academic department for final review. Graduate Admissions will inform applicants of the decision by mail. The process can be streamlined if all required documents are submitted together, as this will allow Graduate Admissions to submit the application package to the department for review as soon as possible. Official transcripts must be submitted in sealed envelopes. If official documents are unavailable, unofficial documents can be used for initial review temporarily; however, applicants will not be fully admitted until all official documents have been received.
