What is the Graduation Festival?
The Graduation Festival combines students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests in a celebration of our soon-to-be graduates!
The Graduation Festival will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 5–8 p.m. on the Stevens campus.
Spread across the lawns of Stevens, tents and tables are setup from Walker Gym to Hoxie House where food, live music, and the 4 schools are represented, along with the departments from Student Development, Alumni Association, and much more. Giveaways and photo opportunities abound, and if it rains, all the fun is just moved inside to the Canavan Arena and Walker Gym. All welcome, with limited parking available in the 8th Street Parking Lot.
When is the Graduate Commencement Ceremony?
The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ.
The main concourse of IZOD Center is open before 8:30 a.m. with the seating areas for guests opening at 9 a.m.
Graduates are asked to arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. for organization and line-up. The Graduate Procession into the arena begins at 9:45 a.m. with the Commencement Ceremony starting at 10 a.m. The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.
When is the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony?
The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ.
The main concourse of IZOD Center is open before 1:30 p.m. with the seating areas for guests opening by 2 p.m.
Graduating Seniors are asked to arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. for organization and line-up. The Undergraduate Procession into the arena begins at 2:45 p.m. with the Commencement Ceremony starting at 3 p.m. The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.
Can I park at the IZOD Center?
Yes, you can park in the IZOD Center parking areas. Parking is free during the ceremonies. Signs and traffic ushers will guide you to the correct parking lot upon arrival.
Do I need a ticket to attend the commecement ceremonies?
Yes, tickets are required for guests to enter the IZOD Center. To help crowd control, please have your ticket ready to show the ushers at the entrance to the concourse.
What can I bring into the IZOD Center?
You may bring small bags, but all bags will be searched at the door by the IZOD House Staff. The IZOD Center strictly prohibits balloons at any of their events, including graduation ceremonies. Please do not bring gift balloons with you, otherwise you will not be allowed to enter the venue.
Can I take photographs at the commencement ceremonies?
Photos and video may be taken from the guest seating areas. Guests will not be permitted in the graduate seating or stage areas or in the aisles and stairways.
Stevens has contracted with a special event photographer to take several color photos of each graduating student as his/her diploma is being presented. Approximately one month after the ceremony, the studio will email proofs and ordering information to each graduate to their Stevens email address that is on file with the Registrar’s Office. Please make sure your email address is correct, otherwise there will be a delay in getting your proofs. Will I be able to purchase Stevens merchandise at the IZOD Center?
Yes, the Stevens Campus Bookstore will be having a Stevens memorabilia sale on the day of commencement ceremonies at the IZOD Center. In addition, the on-campus store will be open during Graduation Festival and all day on Commencement Day, May 21, 2014.
Can I purchase refreshments at the IZOD Center?
Yes, the IZOD Center main concourse includes a food court which will be available prior and during each ceremony.
Does the IZOD Center provide wheelchair and handicapped access?
All entrances to the IZOD Center are wheelchair and handicapped accessible. There are some areas that include wheelchair viewing areas. The IZOD and Stevens ushers will help guests to these appropriate areas.
Will I be able to see the commencement ceremonies online?
For guests who cannot attend the ceremonies in person, Stevens will stream the ceremonies over the internet. The link will be made available on the Commencement home page.
How do I obtain an Invitation Letter for International guests?
If you have guests traveling from outside the U.S., and they require a letter of invitation, you may write an Invitation Letter. You can access the form at www.stevens.edu/isss/forms.
Where can I obtain information on local hotel accommodations?
Stevens has several local hotels that we have negotiated special Stevens pricing. Stevens provides this information to assist you in locating overnight accommodations.
