Games++, March 14th

Games++ is a free 12-hour game development event where participants build games from scratch over 10 hours, then put down their mice and pencils so the public can play their creations. Individuals and teams of all ages and experience are welcome! Starting at 9:00am, participants craft video, board, and other games from scratch. No prior planning is allowed: all games will be created from start to finish in just 10 hours. At 7:00pm all work stops and the doors open to the public to play the finished projects! Never made a game? That's ok! Use Games++ as a chance to make your first game, but it's important to know that Games++ isn't a workshop or class. You must bring all necessary materials and equipment.  Games++ is free, but space is limited and our registration deadline is March 4th. Sign up online today at gamesplusplus.org. We hope to see you there!

Trading Day, April 24th

Trading Day is an annual tradition at the Howe School of Technology Management, the business school at Stevens. It was created as a way to introduce high school students interested in studying business at the college level to the opportunities afforded through a business education that’s infused with the kinds of technology that are disrupting operations and processes today.  Imagine the excitement of a trading floor just as the markets open. Traders gather around terminals, laying out strategy, reacting to news and shouting instructions as they take positions on various stocks. And all around them, high-tech terminals provide a steady stream of market data as it happens, informing decisions and inspiring rapid-fire dealmaking.  If you’re a high school student attending the annual Trading Day at Stevens, imagination is not required!

Applications for Trading Day 2015, scheduled for April 24, have now opened! High school guidance counselors and team advisers are encouraged to visit the application page now to get started. Applications are due March 24.
