
The Stevens Summer
The Stevens Summer is a pre-college experience that challenges, and promotes discovery and exploration. Each summer, talented high school students from the United States and all over the world come to Stevens for a true residential college experience. Get a taste of campus life, experience hands-on projects, visit successful companies, take a bite out of the Big Apple, and make your college application stand out!
THE STEVENS SUMMER ADVANTAGE
Project-based Learning. This summer work in teams and compete to accomplish project goals.
Hands-on Research. Get an up-close perspective of your field of study-whether it is engineering, science, business, or our music programs.
Access to Industry Professionals. Gain insider knowledge about the life of professionals-engineers, scientists, business professionals and musicians in the field through corporate site visits.

Social activities abound in and around the most exciting metropolis in the world: enjoy sporting events, museum trips, sightseeing trips, and other recreational activities that offer you the excitement of New York City access from the relaxing and safe atmosphere of a residential campus.
On-campus housing and meals are included, on the beautiful Stevens campus in Hoboken, NJ - right across from New York City.
High School students will get to take advantage of the historic and beautiful town of Hoboken-ranked 12th in Top College Towns in the nation by The Princeton Review. The Stevens college campus is a 15-minute PATH train ride from Wall Street and 20 minutes from downtown Manhattan, NYC.
Programs
Exploring Career Options in Engineering and Science (ECOES)
Learn first-hand what it means to be a scientist or an engineer! In the ECOES Program, you will experience dynamic, hands-on laboratory projects; participate in a team engineering design or science project; visit local Fortune 500 companies and get an inside view of how scientists and engineers work (Past field visits have included Merck, New Jersey Transit, Picatinny Arsenal, UPS, Becton Dickinson, and BAE Systems).
Multimedia Production
The Stevens Multimedia Production program is designed as a one-week intensive for high school students who are interested in learning the basic principles and software programs necessary for audio production. Study how technology is incorporated into sound recording and then incorporated into video production. All productions and lessons are held in a state-of-the-art recording studio, Media Arts Center (MAC) lab and green screen room.
Business
What does it really mean to be a business major in a global, technology-based economic environment? This program will help you develop fundamental business and technical skills and explore your interests in business, finance, marketing, management and entrepreneurship, and get a taste of the real world of business students and professionals.
Computer Science
This project-based program will teach you fundamental problem-solving skills while you gain hands-on experience in many of the most exciting areas of computer science today, such as web technologies, cybersecurity, and system administration, among others.
Housing and Dining
Housing is included in the program costs for all residential summer programs. Life on campus at Stevens Institute of Technology is comfortable and convenient. You will be paired with roommates and stay in double-occupancy rooms in our residence halls, only steps away from your classes and labs, the Pierce Dining Room, the Health Service Center, and the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. Athletic and Recreation Center. Then, of course, there's downtown Hoboken, recently named a Top 20 College Town by the Princeton Review! With restaurants and shops, Hoboken is a vibrant community with excitement that's just an easy walk down to Washington Street, two blocks off campus.
All meals are included in the program costs either at our on-campus dining hall, or in some cases off campus for special events or during excursions. Stevens is proud to offer a dining program complete with signature brands and menu selections that include just about every item you can imagine.
Resident Advisors
The residential experience is much more than just living in a residence hall on campus. It's about careful supervision, a strong and supportive social network, numerous on-campus activities, and excursions all over New York City. Students are supervised by carefully selected Stevens students who have completed an intensive training program. These resident advisers are focused on the well-being of the students; they do not have other jobs and are not taking classes. RAs and students get to know each other well. Resident advisers look after the safety of the students with the utmost care. Curfews and other safety measures are strictly enforced. Resident advisers do everything possible to ensure that students have a productive and enjoyable summer. The first-day orientation is also an ice-breaking and getting-to-know-you session.
Program Instruction
Programs offered in The Stevens Summer are taught by members of the university community, a group of scholars devoted to the highest standards of research and teaching. Combining their efforts with those of trained and experienced teaching assistants, the instructors create a rich academic experience drawing on the wealth of educational resources at Stevens and in the New York metropolitan area.
Facilities
All projects and exploration labs are held in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in on the Stevens campus, as well as in professional a professional recording studio (Multimedia program). Enjoy sports and recreation in the Schaefer Athletic and Recreation Center, complete with an NCAA competition sized pool, as well as indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, squash and racquetball courts. Outdoor facilities include sand volleyball courts and six outdoor tennis courts. An athletic coordinator will organize activities based on your interests.
Who Should Apply
Programs are open to rising junior and seniors in high school. ECOES program participants should have a demonstrated ability in math and science. Students will be evaluated on the information provided in the application including: high school transcript and letter of recommendation from a teacher. First preference will be given to rising seniors applying to the program.

Students are responsible for transportation to and from Stevens. For students traveling by air, transportation will be provided from Newark/Liberty International Airport to Stevens at no additional charge.
