- Stevens has been ranked by Forbes.com at #3 among US research universities for the high percentage of return on its research investment.
- Stevens has been named 2008 Jostens Institution of the Year by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
- Stevens has been named one of the "25 Most Connected Campuses 2009" by The Princeton Review and Seventeen magazine. Hoboken was named among the 20 Best College Towns in the US in the same survey.
- The US Distance Learning Association has honored Stevens' WebCampus for a third consecutive year for excellence in distance learning with its 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning .
- Stevens is among the first universities in the United States to be designated by the US National Security Agency (NSA) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research for academic years 2008-2013.

- Stevens has been re-designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the National Security Agency for the academic years 2006-2009.
- Stevens has been awarded the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) Certificate for National Standards 4011 and 4013E, a recognition that in 2006 Stevens' curriculum satisfies these standards for Information Systems Security professionals established by the US National Security Agency.
