Ropes Course Spring 2001
Partway through the pledge process the Spring 2001 pledge class, accompanied by brothers of the house, took a trip to rural NJ (yes, it exists) and went through a ropes course with low and high elements. By the end, the staff were telling us that they were really surprised by our teamwork. They even told us that we did the best job working together out of all the groups they had worked with. We tried to let it not go to our heads. Actually, no we didn't. It's fun to be told you're the best.

Yeah, trust falls are lame, but they made us start out with them. Besides, Chris's hair was happy enough for all of us.

By "path" I mean "logs balanced on stumps".

Can you touch YOUR brain?

The look of a man doing his best not to fall off...

Group hug.

BALL!!!

Yeah, Jared. Yeah.

If you weren't getting stepped on, you were getting pulled on.

We couldn't touch the ground in this task;
Jon and Mark laid out the "path" for everyone to walk across.

They had to go log by laborious log. (They only had one or two.)

As if having to stand together on a small stump wasn't difficult enough, Jared just HAD to let one rip. (Think I'm joking? Look at their faces.)

Mario got excited by the safety lecture.
(Note to all the parents out there: it's just a stick.)

All we had to do was jump off and hit it, but it was a long way down ...

The giant's ladder, harder that it looked.

Thou shalt not roll over while straddling thy log. (That's not a happy look on his face.)
