How To Request Funding
In certain cases RSO’s can petition the Financial Committee for a budget change instead of going through the senate. The following summarizes how this option can be exercised.
Re-allocation by Financial Committee:
If an RSO wishes to reallocate funds for use towards a previously approved budget item, they may do so with the approval of two thirds of the SGA Financial Committee.
This applies only to the following:
Step 1: Put together a proposal, including an itemized budget of the changes, a short introduction stating the reason for change, and any other supporting documents, such as price quotes, contracts or room reservations.
Step 2: Contact the SGA Treasurer (sga@stevens.edu), or meet with the Treasurer before or after the SGA Senate meeting to go over the proposal. The SGA Treasurer will meet with the Financial Committee to discuss your request.
Step 3: Contact the Secretary (sga@stevens.edu) to be put on the docket. Refer to the SGA website for meeting times.
Step 4: At this point the proposal will be put on the agenda for the next SGA Senate meeting. Show up to the SGA Senate meeting. At this meeting you will be expected to talk about your proposal, address any concerns and answer any questions. After this the Senate will vote on the proposal and barring any other circumstances, you will know by the end of the meeting whether or not your request was approved or not.
