Computer Engineering

Create a Networked Future

Computer Engineering is one of the most rapidly advancing fields today. Computer Engineers are call on to design, develop, and apply digital and computer-based systems to solve modern engineering problems. Computer Engineers also work in such fields as software development, data structures and algorithms, computer communications, and graphics. The Stevens Institute of Technology program in Computer Engineering prepares students not just as a professional, but as an innovator in these fields. Students graduate with a Bachelor's of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering that prepares them for a career in industry or government, or to continue their education in graduate school.

Computer Engineering students receive a broad-based foundation in engineering principles and may direct their focus in one of the following areas:

  • Computer Systems and Architectures
  • Data Networks and Information Systems
  • Software/Software Engineering
  • Digital Systems

Areas of concentration include:

  • Autonomous Robots
  • Control Systems
  • Data Communications and Networks
  • Image Processing and Multimedia
  • Information Systems Security
  • Real-Time and Embedded Systems
  • Software Engineering
  • Wireless Communications

A Multidisciplinary Approach

Multidisciplinary research represents the latest frontier in technological development. The most innovative contemporary products combine concepts from a number of disciplines. Stevens Electrical and Computer Engineering Academic and Research Laboratories address this need by culling faculty members' overlapping areas of expertise to address current areas of interest and develop new solutions for the future.

Learn from World-Class Professors

Learn from professors like Dr. Rajarathnam Chandramouli, whose interest in areas as diverse as cognitive radio, wireless security, steganography, and text forensics has led to funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), US Army, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Research Lab, National Institute of Justice (NIJ), other Department of Defense agencies, as well as industry. Professors at Stevens have the knowledge and industry experience to help you launch your career.

Jump start you future by checking out the Electrical & Computer Engineering Web site for more details, or admissions to apply today.
