         BACKGROUND

Prior to joining Stevens in 2000, Dr. Farr spent 8 years teaching at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point where he was promoted to the rank of full professor in 2000. From 1997 until 2000 he served as Director of their Engineering Management program. Before teaching at West Point, he was employed by the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He served as Team Leader for the Combat Engineering and Simulations Group at WES. Before WES, he served in a variety of government and industry positions.

         AWARDS

The USMA Engineering Management Program received the ASEM award for Award for Academic Excellence for Leadership of Engineering & Technical Management.

Dr. Farr is the former editor of the Journal of Management in Engineering and is President of the American Society of Engineering Management(ASEM).

He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and ASEM. He also serves on the Army Science Board and the Board of Advicers of SOLE.
