Duke Farms is a nature garden and conservation society located in Hillsborough, NJ. The site is over 1,000 acres and consists of many gardens, lakes, and interconnected roadways. Due to the private nature of the gardens, each access point is made secure by either a guard or a gate mechanism that can only be operated by a Duke Farm staff member.
Project Description
After consulting with members of the Duke Farms team about what they desired for a dilapidated bridge spanning the Dukes Brook on their property, the team created a variety of ideas that would help meet their needs. First, the team had to design a suitable bridge structure to allow potential large loads to cross the brook, and second the team needed to design some sort of device to make this entrance site entrance secure.
