Improved Design

This device's mechanism:

bulletThe rod threads into the shaft.
bulletHeight adjustments are made by turning the nut.
bulletThreaded rod loosens by turning, then angle can be adjusted and threaded rod is tightened against the pin to hold the angle in place (The threaded rod acts as a setscrew).

Benefits to New Design

bulletEase of manufacturability.
bulletConnecting wedges and square holes in transport rod no longer needed.
bulletDevice has capability of angular adjustment before and during distraction process.
bulletEasier operability.

Working prototype (approximately 2:1 scaled) of

intra-oral distraction device.
