The Fluid Mechanics Laboratory has substantial floor space to accommodate the seven experiments available for the Fluid Mechanics course. The laboratory includes a low-noise subsonic wind tunnel with several custom-fabricated test sections, a pump performance test-rig, a blower and internal-flow test-rig, a hydraulic bench and experimental set-ups for flow metering, force of a jet, and dimensional-analysis/similitude. The laboratory is fully networked and it is located on the west wing basement of Edwin A. Stevens Hall. The laboratory is used as a joint facility with the Civil Engineering Department.
Laboratory is located in EAS 002 (area: 1200 sq. ft.). It is fully networked and it is primarily used in undergraduate fluid mechanics courses (ME/CEoE, ChE).
Equipment included in the lab:
- Subsonic Wind Tunnel
- Flow Metering Setup
- Pump Performance Test-rig
- Force of a Jet
- Blower Test-rig
- Fluid Viscosity Measurement Setup
