With three National Centers of Excellence, a prime location next to New York City, world-class faculty in a broad variety of disciplines, and some 1,500 undergraduate students enrolled in engineering and science programs, Stevens is an ideal resource for hiring, internships, and research partnerships.

Customized Classes for Industry

The School of Engineering and Science has a faculty with strong interest and experience in the professional world and both technical and managerial experience with civil structures and systems. Stevens is able to meet the needs of regional organizations in some circumstances with customized classes developed to an employer's specifications. Entrepreneurships and High-Tech Start-Ups
Stevens emphasis on academic entrepreneurship has sparked the development of valuable IP on campus, which the university stewards into the market through the Office of Enterprise Licensing and Development. These initiatives support technology licensing to commercial entities and steward venture capital investments.

Research Partnerships and Lab Facilities

At the heart of the Institute's activities is the development and sustainment of an educational environment that prepares graduates to become leaders in the global economy of the future. Inventiveness, creativity and entrepreneurship, as well as an understanding of the forces that shape the global economy, are among the prevailing principles of that environment. International outreach through partnerships with multi-national companies and industries are expanding the Institute's global footprint and making an impact on engineering education worldwide.

Stevens renowned research centers and laboratory facilities are recognized by the National Security Agency, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security for their critical contributions to our nation's security and the safety of developing technologies. Atlantic Center for the Innovative Design and Control of Small Ships (ACCeSS) industry partners include Lockheed Martin and AMSEC. The Center for Secure and Resilient Maritime Commerce (CSR), along with the University of Hawaii's National Center for Islands, Maritime, and Extreme Environments Security (CIMES), constitute the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) National Center of Excellence for Maritime, Island and Extreme/Remote Environment Security (MIREES). Industry partners include:

Industry Senior Design Partnerships

Stevens Senior Design program matches our proficient students with sponsored projects that provide a mutual benefit to both student teams and sponsor organizations. Sponsoring a Senior Design project at Stevens presents companies with a unique opportunity to explore new concepts, build ties with research faculty, gain visibility on campus and in the community, and test potential new hires. Senior Design teams tackle projects smartly to create innovative solutions that have developed into intellectual property and marketable products.

  • Stevens Cooperative Education program places our talented students into temporary, full-time professional positions during the course of their education.
