Research
Dr. Korfiatis has been responsible for the execution and management of over 150 major research projects, valued over $30 million and has served as a consultant to numerous private and government organizations. Dr. Korfiatis has authored over ninety articles in professional journals, conference proceedings, handbooks and several research reports. He has co-authored six environmental technology US patents and has served in numerous environmental committees and task forces for professional organizations, industry and government. He is a co-founder of two environmental technology commercialization companies, Plasma Sol and HydroGlobe Corp.

Institutional Service
Dr. Korfiatis has served in numerous academic committees at Stevens including as Chairman of the Faculty Excellence Team and Chairman of the President's Technogenesis Implementation Task Force, which is responsible for implementing Technogenesis initiatives at Stevens. He is a member of several professional organizations and serves as a reviewer to the several journals. Dr. Korfiatis holds a BS in Civil Engineering, MS and Ph.D. Degrees in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering all from Rutgers University, and an Honorary Master of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Dr. Korfiatis has been a Co-Founder of the following Stevens Enterprise Companies:

  • PlasmaSol Corp. (www.plasmasol.com) PlasmaSol Corporation was founded with the mission to utilize a break-through in plasma technology to protect and clean the environment. Our plan to achieve this is to continue to develop and promote uses for this technology, known as Capillary Discharge Non-Thermal Plasma (CD-NTP). PlasmaSol Corporation is a unique alliance between those who invented CD-NTP at the Stevens Institute of Technology and those who recognize its value to the world. PlasmaSol's founders and advisors represent a "Who's Who" in the environmental, energy and defense industries. Thus far, our efforts have earned the Thomas Alva Edison Award, Most Innovative Product Award and Environmental Company of the Year Award. PlasmaSol is currently developing further applications in the areas of: Energy solutions, Air contamination control, Surface contamination control, Combustion control, Defense technology. We are continuing to explore the possibilities of this cost-effective, new technology with the goal of bringing a safer and cleaner future to all of us. Since lives are now at risk and our country vulnerable, we at PlasmaSol are seeking to bring this technology to the marketplace as quickly as possible.
