CMS Researchers win SNAME’s 2007 Cochrane Award

Dr. Daniel Savitsky, Michael DeLorme and Dr. Raju Datla have been awarded the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) 2007 Cochrane Award. This award is given annually to the best paper published in the journal Marine Technology. Their paper, “Inclusion of Whisker Spray Drag in Performance Prediction Method for High-Speed Planing Hulls” can be found here.

The Vice Admiral E. L. Cochrane Award was instituted by the Executive Committee of SNAME in 1961 to succeed The President’s Award which was first presented in 1946. Dr. Savitsky previously won this award in 1964 and the first recipient of this award was Ken Davidson (founder of Stevens’ Davidson Lab) in 1946.
