COOPERATIVE EDUCATION Program
Gain the Edge Through Professional Experience
Students stand out of the crowd through the Stevens Co-op Program with hands-on experience at leading companies in chemistry, chemical biology, and biomedical engineering. Before even completing an undergraduate degree, co-op students have worked alongside the best and brightest in the industry, with two years of paid professional experience on their resumes. Prominent companies that participate in the program include BD, Colgate Palmolive, Exxon Mobil, Ethicon, Merck, Stryker Orthopaedics, and many more.
Getting the Job
The Princeton Review recently ranked Stevens 13th in the nation for "Best Career Services" and Bloomberg Businessweek placed the institute in the top 25 schools in the nation for best return on investment (ROI). Both these achievements are largely due to the exceptional co-op program in which 40 percent of the body at Stevens participates.
With the combination of classroom learning and real-world experience, students who participate in the Co-op Program make compelling candidates for prospective employers. Many co-op students are offered full-time positions by their co-op employers post-graduation, with higher-than-average starting salaries. Students are able to explore the wide range of opportunities available in their career. The program offers a five-year plan that is fully compatible with the undergraduate curriculum. Over 30 percent of co-op students earn both a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree while pursuing the five year plan.
