The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and Biological Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology offers undergraduate and graduate programs that lead to B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry or Chemical Biology or a B.E. or M.E. Degrees in Biomedical Engineering. The mission of the department is to exploit the natural interdependence of science and engineering, to maintain comprehensive educational programs, and to conduct innovative and purposeful chemistry and biology research that will both inform and be informed by biomedical engineering applications.
The department houses many faculty research laboratories, and the entrepreneurial and innovative environment at Stevens encourages students and faculty to pursue their ideas for new technologies from concept through commercial embodiment where appropriate, while preserving the traditional mission of an academic institution. Stevens is near many of the Fortune 500 companies and numerous other private and government institutions, many of which employ our students upon graduation. The campus is minutes away from New York City, an international business and cultural center.
