American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today ASME International is a nonprofit educational and technical organization serving a worldwide membership of 125,000.

Vision
To be the premier organization for promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical engineering throughout the world.

Mission
To promote and enhance the technical competency and professional well-being of our members, and through quality programs and activities in mechanical engineering, better enable its practitioners to contribute to the well-being of humankind.

Instrument Society of America

ISA stands for Instrument Society of America. It is the International Society for Measurement and Control, and it is an important professional engineering organization.

The chapter has two main purposes: to promote the professional development of members by programs and relations to other student chapters and to the national organization of ISA; and to contribute to the development of diverse engineering fields at Stevens Institute of Technology through activities involving chapter members and faculty.

ISA helps students familiarize themselves with industry by holding meetings which are sponsored by well known engineering companies. ISA also promotes student-faculty interaction and allows students to get to know one another through a variety of activities such as pizza parties, community service projects, visits to shows and exhibitions and engineering design competitions.

National Society of Black Engineers

To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers, who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

The NSBE experience empowers every member to reach their full potential. We are encouraging our membership to continue the legacy while maintaining leadership roles in NSBE, Black communities and other professional organizations. We instill pride and add value to our members which causes them to want to give back to NSBE in order to produce a continuum of success.

Society of Automotive Engineers

The Society of Automotive Engineers is your one-stop resource for technical information and expertise used in designing, building, maintaining, and operating self-propelled vehicles for use on land or sea, in air or space.

Nearly 80,000 engineers, business executives, educators, and students from more than 97 countries form our network of membership who share information and exchange ideas for advancing the engineering of mobility systems. More than 16,000 volunteer leaders serve on our Board of Directors and our many other boards, councils and committees. Our technical committees write more new aerospace and automotive engineering standards than any other standards-writing organization in the world. We publish thousands of technical papers and books each year, and leading-edge periodicals and Internet and CD-ROM products too. Our Cooperative Research Program helps facilitate projects that benefit the mobility industry as a whole. Numerous meetings and exhibitions provide worldwide opportunities to network and share information. We also offer a full complement of professional development activities such as seminars, workshops, and continuing education programs. The meetings and activities of local sections provide an opportunity to network with colleagues near you.

Every day, we demonstrate our commitment to society through local, national, and international public awareness programs that promote vehicle safety and maintenance and energy resource conservation. Through the SAE Foundation, we are also deeply involved in the engineering-related education of children, teachers , college students, and faculty. Industry and faculty awards provide recognition to outstanding contributors in the profession.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

Our mission is to promote the development of Hispanics in engineering, science and other technical professions. We believe in achieving educational excellence, economic opportunity and social equity.

Our goal is to increase educational opportunities and promote professional and personal growth. We are determined to carry out our social responsibility and become involved in education, business, and government issues. In the process, we intend to enhance our pride within our organization and to reinforce our reputation as a vital Hispanic organization.

We will fulfill this mission by:
