Stevens Hosts 2010 Metro Area NEMS/MEMS WorkshopOn July 26th, Stevens will host over 100 students and researchers from local universities and companies for a one-day workshop on NEMS/MEMS with a focus on Nanomanufacturing. In addition to technical and poster sessions, the workshop will include a keynote address from Dr. George Hazelrigg, the Deputy Director of the Division of Civil, Mechanical & Manufacturing Innovation at the US National Science Foundation. The workshop will be held to facilitate communication and collaboration among MEMS/NEMS/Nanomanufacturing researchers in the NYC metro area. This workshop is organized by faculty in the area of MEMS/NEMS, with Prof. EH Yang of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stevens as the Organizing Committee Chair, and supported by Schaefer School of Engineering and Science. In addition to Stevens faculty and students, we will have attendees from Columbia, Princeton, Rutgers, NJIT, Stevens, SUNY-Stony Brook, CCNY, and Polytechnic, among other schools and industrial attendees, which supports our goals for the workshop "to raise awareness of the diverse interests of members of our local community, to promote greater participation in dialogue and exchange of ideas and interests among research groups in this area, and to strengthen the MEMS/NEMS education and research activities in this geographic area."
