Davidson Laboratory "very attractive" for tank testing new Volvo Ocean race boatsThe full-scale testing programs for Volvo Ocean race boats tests Sails, appendages, hull shapes and canting systems. Tank testing is carried out at the Davidson Laboratory of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
Frank DeBord of Chesapeake Marine Technology and a Stevens Ocean Engineering Alum is managing the tank-testing program along with Raju Dalta and Len Imas of the Davidson Laboratory.
