Dr. Yu-Dong Yao and his team were recently awarded research grants from both the Department of Defense(DoD) and the National Science Foundation(NSF)Undergraduate students will research and design integrated test beds to develop software defined radio and frequency transmitters and receivers. Their research aims to increase spectrum utilization significantly for both military and commercial applications. The project includes mentorship by experienced electrical engineering and computer science faculty (including Co-PI's Professor Bruce McNair and Dr. Yan Meng), weekly presentations, seminars and other professional development opportunities during a ten-week summer program at Stevens.
