Preliminary Elevator Pitch Competition 3.31.2010
Support the teams competing in the Student Elevator Pitch Competition!
The first round of competition is taking place March 31, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm. Faculty, students and guests are all invited to attend.

Where: Burchard 430
The top ten finalists will go on to participate in the finals!!
The final competition is taking place during Research & Entrepreneurship Day, April 30, 2010.
What is an Elevator Pitch Competition???
An elevator pitch is a short presentation made by an entrepreneur raising money for a venture. The term describes a pitch that’s short enough that it could be given during an elevator ride when the entrepreneur has the only chance to talk with a potential investor. Just as in the real Olympics, the investor judges hold up their scores and give points ranging from one to ten in the categories of quality of presentation and business fundability.
Competition Format:
Each participant will have 2 minutes to make their pitch to a panel of a judges. If you exceed the 2 minute time frame you will be cut off. Your presentation will be followed by up to 2 minutes Q&A.
Judging Criteria:
Elevator Pitches will be judged on the following:
a) Quality of the elevator pitch
b) Viability of business plan
c) Actual intent to pursue business
