Dr. Michael Bruno appointed to the Naval Research Advisory Committee Dr. Michael Bruno, Feiler Chair Professor & Dean, School of Engineering & Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, has recently been appointed to the Naval Research Advisory Committee (NRAC).
This prestigious appointment makes Dr. Bruno one of 15 NRAC members who are preeminent in their fields of science, research, and development. Team members are appointed by the Secretary of the Navy and consist of a two-year term.
NRAC is an independent civilian scientific advisory group dedicated to providing analysis in the areas of science, research and development. Their mission is to identify the problems of the Navy and Marine Corps, keep abreast of the current research and development programs, and provide an independent, objective assessment capability through investigative studies.
"Dr. Bruno’s appointment to NRAC is not only a commendable individual achievement but his experience and insight will be invaluable to the committee." - Provost George P. Korfiatis
Membership in NRAC also allows for investigative work through panel organizations. This program purposely brings together experts who provide a balanced view of the topic. They meet at different military locations throughout the country to better acquaint themselves with the Navy perspective and then formulate a set of findings and recommendations in response.
