This effort focuses on the development of quantifiable interference characteristics of wireless receivers and, intentional and unintentional transmitters; the establishment of a means of understanding and characterizing interference temperature; and the use of this critical information to enhance interference modeling-capabilities of existing network simulation tools. The role of Stevens will be on the receiver side, and will use the newly acquired distributed radio network testbed to perform experiments as well as analytical and numerical studies. This year, he will be supervising three senior design groups to build hardware in the above project and the AFOSR funded Defense University Research Instrumentation Project (DURIP) 2005 project titled "Distributed Radio Network Testbed " which has a hardware budget of $73K.
