Mo Mansouri, PhDBack

The research of Dr. Mansouri includes the advancements in applications of governance in extended enterprise systems, enterprise networks, and complex adaptive systems, resilience of complex networks; specifically, resilience of ports as well as maritime transportation and infrastructure systems, applications of knowledge management in cognitive enterprises and learning systems, and applications of strategic management in development programs through empowerment of social networks. These areas are critical facets of complex systems and enterprise management.

Dr. Mansouri’s involvement with the Systomics lab works towards the major research thrusts of Resilient Extended Enterprises and System of Systems. The study of system of systems supports exploration through the groundbreaking science of networks and complexity with the intention of finding fingerprints that are independent of the specific systems that exemplify them. The ultimate goal of this research is to provide a pragmatic basis for better decision making during the conception, realization and operation of systems. Dr. Mansouri's research on management and diffusion of knowledge in complex adaptive systems and cognitive enterprises is closely connected with and done in the Center for Complex Adaptive Sociotechnological Systems (COMPASS). It contributes to the fundamental science of adaptive complexity and cognitive mechanisms of enterprise networks.

Resilient Extended Enterprise research conducted by Dr. Mansouri seeks to minimize impact and maximize resilience of network disturbances at the holistic level. His initiative in this area includes developing a tool environment that embraces enterprise frameworks, architecting heuristics, enterprise modeling, resilience metrics, and case study material that will support systemic inquiry into the construction of these cognition and negotiation mechanisms.
