Re: Grading procedures
We feel that this will improve service to students by reducing the labor involved in duplicative data entry, by improving the accuracy of the data and by hastening subsequent procedures. Online grading is a real-time process; when the instructor enters a grade online, it is simultaneously recorded in the Student Information System (SIS) and can be viewed online by the student. This will enable the Registrar's Office to mail students their grade reports earlier, something that is of particular concern to students whose employee tuition reimbursement can only be processed upon submission of an official grade report. It will also enhance our ability to perform the final degree audits leading up to Commencement. Faculty members have expressed overwhelming satisfaction with the online grading process. As always, the staff of the Registrar's Office stands ready to assist as needed. New faculty members or anyone who does not have or remember their PIN number required to access the Web for Faculty may contact Gaetano Liberatore, Director of Student Records, at glibera1@stevens.edu or extension 5208 or me at dsherida@stevens.edu or extension 5020.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
