Financial Aid and Scholarships

Study abroad students at Stevens have two options for financing their semester abroad program:

  • Most students pay Stevens their regular tuition and the technology fee, just as if they were at Stevens, and Stevens pays the university or program abroad. Stevens’ scholarships will still be applied to the student’s account, as well as any applicable and allowable federal and state financial aid.
  • Other students choose to pay the university or program abroad on their own, without using federal or state financial aid or Stevens scholarships. Student choosing this option make this decision after reading the Financing Your Study Abroad Experience document, as well as speaking with the Director of International Programs and the Director of Financial Aid at Stevens.
  • In either case, students pay room and board to the overseas program.
  • Many students find programs that are comparable or less expensive than Stevens. Extra costs include overseas flights, personal travel expenses, the cost of a passport, and visa costs.
