SSE launches partnership with World Scientific to publish Systems Research Forum and Systems Research Book SeriesSSE announces a partnership with World Scientific publishers for both the School's Systems Research Forum Journal, and the Systems Research Book series. Dr. Brian Sauser will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Systems Research Forum, to be published annually with research from multiple domains that investigates systems rigorously via case studies and original research papers. SSE Dean Dr. Dinesh Verma will be the Series Editor for the new Systems Research Series, highlighting significant research in the form of dissertations, monographs, and textbooks in the areas of systems thinking, systems engineering and enterprise systems. The School is excited to further establish these two research collections in the academic community, and to facilitate the spread of critical research in this ground-breaking interdisciplinary field. As general systems theory provides constructs to understand, design, and describe the behavior of systems, systems thinking provides a context to understand how the notion of “system” can be used to make sense of our improved reality. Systems methodologies have grown in a number of areas, from engineering products and services, defining and remedying human activity ills, and understanding and leveraging phenomena in the natural, life and social sciences. Advances in technological capacity have made a systems context an imperative when developing appropriate solutions to complex problems and environments. Leading authors from around the world are sought to contribute articles from diverse domains, including aerospace, defense, physical and cyber infrastructure, medical and health care, maritime and border, security, energy, environmental, transportation, finance and economy, information, education and training. Take an exclusive look at the premier issue of the 2009 Systems Research Forum on WorldSciNet.com. Send submissions to the Systems Research Series by sending a completed Book Proposal Form to SSE@stevens.edu. As Editor-in-Chief, I am excited by this venue that the Systems Research Forum will offer us, as a global community, and I welcome the exposition of the research that will bring us these new insights.
