Chosen from more than 100 selected paper submissions from industry, government and academia, the School of Systems and Enterprises was widely recognized and regarded at the annual conference. "To have so much success at the premier conference on systems engineering is an amazing accomplishment for SSE, and a clear representation of our growing success in the domain." said Dr. Brian Sauser, SSE Assistant Professor, winner of two of the three Best Paper awards. The three awards included: The Brian Mar Best Student Paper award, awarded to SSE doctoral student Weiping Tan, for his paper entitled "Monte-Carlo Simulation Approach for System Readiness Level Estimation", written in collaboration with SSE Assistant Professors, Drs. Brian Sauser and Jose Ramirez-Marquez. Dr. Brian Sauser, Assistant Professor, and Systems Engineering Master's degree students Eric Forbes and Suzanne McGrory of Northrop Grumman Corp, together with Michael Long of CSC Federal Consulting Practice, received the Best Paper in Government Domain award for their paper entitled "Defining an Integration Readiness Level for Defense Acquisition". Contributions by Michael Long and Suzanne McGory were made as part of their Master's degree project work. The Best Paper in Academia was awarded to Jim Armstrong, Industry Professor, for his work entitled "Divergent Thinking in Systems Engineering Practice: Is There a Shortfall?"
