SSE announces new Virginia and Kevin Ruesterholz Scholarship in Engineering Management for Undergraduates

Virginia and Kevin Ruesterholz have established a $10,000 scholarship fund to recognize and reward outstanding leadership and achievement in Engineering Management among the undergraduate student population at Stevens Institute of Technology.  The award will be granted to a senior in Engineering Management who meets the requirements listed below, and who best exemplifies the value of an Engineering Management education.

Criteria for Eligibility include:

    * Minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher
    * Must be an entering Senior in the undergraduate Engineering Management program
    * Active participant of a student organization, such as ASEM, INCOSE, or other professional society programs offered through the School of Systems and Enterprises
    * Submission of a written statement on the benefits of an Engineering Management education

A committee, consisting of members of the School of Systems and Enterprises faculty, will review the eligible applicants and select either one or two recipients. Students receiving the award will receive a scholarship in the amount of $10,000 applied to their student account, will be acknowledged at Convocation, and will be honored with their names on a plaque to be displayed in the SSE offices. If the award is granted to two students, each student will receive one-half of the full monetary award value.

The department is pleased and proud to have such an outstanding group of students from which to choose a recipient for this award.

Qualified Engineering Management students can apply by mailing a cover letter, the written statement, and a copy of their transcript to the attention of Dr. Kate Abel, Program Director, Engineering Management.

Applications must be received by June 29, 2009.
