Advice You’d Like to Share with the Class of 2013:   “Make the most of your college years at Stevens. Go out and meet new people. Join some clubs. Go to the events the Entertainment Committee throws, such as comedy shows, band performances, and free food and game nights. You will meet great friends and have some of the best times of your life while you are here. Being a sophomore now, I’ve only been here over a year and it’s been awesome.”

My Best Study Tip:   “When studying for a Calculus quiz, be sure to study the past exams from the past three to four years, which are posted on their website. This way, you will be used to the wording and types of questions they ask. Also, in general terms, sign up for a tutor if you think you may need it now or in the future. You should do so even if you are doing very well in a course, that way if you have any questions or need assistance in the future, you will have someone you can go to anytime for some one-on-one tutoring for free.”

My Time Management Strategy:   “Unlike high school, your homework assignments will often be due on the same day every week or so. As you get used to your schedule, designate a specific day of the week that you will get a particular subject done. If you have a free weekend, try to get most of your work done then. It really helps to be able to relax during the week instead of stressing over the due date.”

Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Visiting professors and teaching assistants during office hours, free tutoring through the Academic Support Center (ASC), and my friends.

What I Like Best About Stevens:   “Everyone at Stevens is very motivated to do the best they can. It’s great to be around people who are equally motivated with the same interests and goals as you.”
