Advice You’d Like to Share with the Class of 2013: Take advantage of all of the opportunities that Stevens has to offer; besides working on school work, getting involved in organizations and meeting new friends will make time in college even more special. My Best Study Tip: “When reading through the books for the sciences, try and take some notes/jot things down so you can refer back to it. As for math, the best way to study is to go over lots of practice problems. This will better prepare you for the tests and make you more familiar with the problems you will be solving. Also, two more things that are important include working with friends on class work when permitted and taking full advantage of the free tutoring of the Academic Support Center.” My Time Management Strategy: “Try and get things done as soon as you can. Something always seems to come up, so trying to do things as soon as possible will remedy this situation. Make sure work comes first. I have a planner so that I write down everything I need to accomplish that day, this way I can cross the completed tasks off as they are done.” Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Office of Undergraduate Academics, Office of Career Development, professors, fellow classmates, upperclassmen, athletics faculty, Delta Phi Epsilon sorority sisters What Do I Like Best About Stevens: “I cannot put into words just one thing that I like about Stevens. The next few things that I mention lists what makes Stevens so special: everything from location, social life, fun people that you get to meet, and even strong community bond. While although the work is challenging, I would not change my decision for schools. I have met some of my best friends here and had a college experience so far that I never thought I would have. During and after college, Stevens offers a multitude of opportunities for personal, academic, and financial growth.” |
