| Class of 2010Major: Chemical Biology, concentration in Bioanalytical Chemistry Extra Curricular Activities: Advice You’d Like to Share with the Class of 2013: “Keep in touch with your advisors, professors, Deans, the administration, and everyone else, right from your first semester. That way, you’ll know where to go later on if you have questions, concerns, or interests in pursuing a new opportunity through Stevens.” My Best Study Tip: “Make sure you are practicing using all the concepts you’ll need for a test, not just reading about them.” My Time Management Strategy: “I completely rely on writing down my hour-by-hour study schedule for a given day, especially when I have several tests coming up (during final exams, for instance). By breaking my study time down into blocks for different classes, I can make sure I have time to prepare for each exam, and prevent myself from getting complacent in studying the same topic for days on end. It also helps as a stress-management technique, when the workload seems overwhelming.” Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Office of Career Development, Workshops sponsored by various campus Professional Organizations, Tutoring, Academic Advisors, Information Technology Support What Do I Like Best About Stevens: “I like the fact that there are so many different opportunities and resources available to Stevens students. The variety of RSOs (Registered Student Organizations) on campus gives everyone a chance to meet fellow students and try different things- for instance, I never knew that I’d love working on theatrical productions until someone mentioned that I should find out about the Dramatic Society! Additionally, since these activities and groups are student-run, students really have a say in what they’d like to see happen on campus.” |
