| Class of 2011Major: Business and Technology Minor: Economics Extra Curricular Activities: Advice You’d Like to Share with the Class of 2013: “Put yourself out there! Starting college can be a rocky experience, entering a world of the unknown, but know that you are not alone; your peers are with you. The upperclassmen are always there to help, your new fellow freshmen are always looking for a friend as well, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and reach out to others.” My Best Study Tip: “Seek help if you are struggling!! The tutoring service at Stevens is amazing so take advantage. Even if you may be sure with the material, it is always nice to have guidance and help. Tip for math; practice problems. I’ve noticed that for Statistics, Probability and Calc the best study tip is to continue doing practice problems because after a while you realize there are only so many ways they can ask a question and you have tackled them all from practicing multiple questions.” My Time Management Strategy: “I usually plan out in the beginning of the day the amount of time I want to spend on each activity or assignment. In the beginning give yourself extra time for homework and studying because it is probably one of the biggest adjustments realizing the course work. “ Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Tutoring Service, the library, Career Development, the Professors; don’t be afraid to email them or talk to them after class! What Do I Like Best About Stevens: “The size! Stevens has become a second family to me because of the size. It is nice to always see familiar faces. Inside the classroom the attention you get from the professor is great; they know you on a name and personal basis as opposed to a number. It’s a nice tight community of students who all strive to succeed." |
