Advice You’d Like to Share with the Class Of 2013: “Get to know your professors. Even something as simple as saying hi in passing or thanking them at the end of a lecture makes a huge difference. When they know your face and know you are a nice person, I’ve found that the professors here will go to the ends of the earth to help you out.  They’re also very interesting people to talk to and have great advice to give!”

My Best Study Tip: “Write stuff down while you study.  Even if your professor doesn’t allow you to bring a “cheat sheet” to the exam, make one for your own use while studying.  Going through the material and deciding what is important and what isn’t is a great way to get the material fresh in your head, and to put emphasis on what really needs it.”

My Time Management Strategy: “Don’t forget to schedule your fun, too!  As a 4-year bachelors/masters student, I’m very often totally booked for 95% of my waking hours.  Scheduling time to go eat with friends at Pierce, or to watch a TV show you like a lot is just as important as carving out a block of time to work on calc.  It’s what keeps you sane and able to work efficiently the rest of the time.”

Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Use your advisor to help you schedule your classes!  They know exactly what you need to take, especially if your course needs are a little unusual (pursuing a double major or a masters). Also, working with your classmates, or asking upperclassmen for help is a very valuable informal resource.

What I Like Best About Stevens: “The people, for sure.  There are so many interesting people here and I have a great time with almost everyone I meet!  So be outgoing and open to the new people you meet here.  They have tons to offer.”
