Advice you’d like to share with the Incoming Class: If you are struggling with a subject, don't wait to ask for help - email your professor or TA, apply for a tutor, or ask your friends for help. Also, don't be afraid to get involved in student life. Join clubs that interest you and try to be active participants - it will go a long way toward helping you make friends and get used to college life.

MY BEST STUDY TIP: Look over the old Chemistry tests a day or two before the test. If you are struggling with particular topics in Calculus, go to your professor's or TA's open office hours, or the Walk-in tutoring center for help. For physics, do the practice questions on Mastering Physics and go to Physics Help Center if you need help. For all subjects, make sure that you are able to do the homework by yourself as you progress throughout the semester - this will be very beneficial when preparing for tests. If you are not able to complete the homework by yourself, ask for help, then try it again.

My Time Management Strategy: The Student Life Newsletter is emailed to every undergraduate student a few times per week. It lists clubs’ meeting times and locations and other fun activities and events that are coming up. In addition, professors list exam dates on their course syllabus. Use a planner or Google calendar to make a note of dates and times of tests and activities so that there is enough time to study as well as attend student activities.

Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Peer tutors, Walk-In Tutoring Center, professors’ open office hours

What Do You Like Best About Stevens? I love the location of Stevens - it is so close to New York City, which offers great job opportunities for people of any major at Stevens and also allows you to leave Hoboken for a change of scenery and more diverse activities.
